In Greater Manchester the Fire Services are committed to reducing fire deaths by ensuring that every home in the county has a working smoke alarm.
To make certain this happens, firefighters now carry out FREE Home Fire Risk Assessments and fit free smoke alarms.
This also has the benefit of reducing potential loss or damage to your tenants possessions and your property
The Fire Services have already fitted over 100,000 free smoke alarms in our local communities. Along with fitting free smoke alarms, they also give occupiers a free fire safety check known as a Home Fire Risk Assessment.
What is a Home Fire Risk Assessment?
When your tenant books a Home Fire Risk Assessment, firefighters will visit your property at an allocated time and accompany your tenant around every room in your property with the aim of:
· Identifying and making the tenant aware of the potential fire risks in their home
· Making sure your tenant knows what to do in order to reduce or prevent these risks
· Helping your tenant put together an escape plan in case a fire breaks out in the future
· Ensuring your tenant has a working smoke alarm and if they don't, we will fit a FREE ten year smoke alarm.
